Hiking in Beaver’s Bend State Park, Oklahoma

Beavers Bend State Park and Nature Center, 4350 OK-259A, Broken Bow, OK 74728, USA
There is a sense of peace that I find only in the quiet nooks of Beavers Bend, Oklahoma. One of my favorite American writers, Ralph Waldo Emerson, wrote something that I believe sums it up best.
"I am the lover of uncontained and immortal beauty. In the wilderness, I find something more dear and connate than in streets or villages. In the tranquil landscape, and especially in the distant line of the horizon, man beholds somewhat as beautiful as his own nature." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Even in the year of 2023, I still find that to be true.

Picking Tulips at Plantation Pines in Tyler, Texas

10098 County Rd 429, Tyler, TX 75704, USA

Well, folks... Here in East Texas, Spring has finally sprung!

I don't know about you, but I was dying for warmer weather and new growth in the garden. And what better way to celebrate this sense growth and renewal than by picking flowers?

Local Adventures: Ziplining in New York, Texas

New York, TX 75770, USA

This post is atrociously late, but I still wanted to share this little adventure I took with one of my nearest and dearest friends.

For those of you who don't know me well, one of my worst fears is heights. (Seriously, I was 24 before anyone managed to talk me into getting on a ferris wheel at our local fair.)

So when my old college roommate asked me if I wanted to go ziplining with her, I obviously had a panic attack enthusiastically said yes!

The 7 Secrets No One Tells You About Moving Overseas

So for those of you who haven't heard, I've previously mentioned how I am hoping to go to South Korea eventually (go read this post, if you haven't heard about it). But this will not be my first time experiencing life overseas because I have lived in Kenya, Africa before. One thing I've noticed is that there are many the little details about living life overseas that "expats" (expatriates) often forget to mention or don't always feel comfortable talking about.

Traveling the World From Home: Boba Tea (Evergreen Coffee and Dessert in Longview, Texas)

In this week's blog post, I continue with my "Traveling the World From Home" series, where I try new food at locally-owned restaurants and cafés. This series has been an interesting topic to cover because it has not only challenged me to go out of my way to find small businesses to support, but it has also helped me to feel a deeper connection to my community and make me more excited to talk about it with people. Word of mouth is a powerful tool in marketing, so we shouldn't discount the power of simply sharing our experiences with others.
